The fresher and purer the medicinal plant is, the more effective and rich in active ingredients the product will be. This is the fundamental concept of A. Vogel, one of the most eminent pioneers of naturopathy of the 20th century. Since his childhood, his parents and grandparents taught him to appreciate the value of medicinal plants and the importance of the components of each plant. In the 1930s, he practiced naturopathy in his practice in Teufen, Switzerland, where he himself prepared the remedies for his patients. He soon found that the tinctures had greater therapeutic efficacy if they were made from plants collected fresh from controlled biological cultivation. During the next thirty years, the demand for natural A.Vogel preparations increased to the point that the production of Teufen was not sufficient. In 1963 A.Vogel created the company Bioforce AG in Roggwil and set out the strict guidelines for plant cultivation, production and manufacture of remedies. Each fresh plant product must contain the most complete and unaltered spectrum of action possible of the plant in its fresh state.
