Vital Biota-DR is a powerful and advanced combination of 11 selected bacterial strains + S. boulardii , FOS (chicory) and AOS (larch). It provides a minimum of 21 billion viable bacteria per enteric-coated capsule PH ⁵ D for optimal protection against acidic stomach secretions.

VITALBIOTA-DR is a unique formula that displaces harmful bacteria that cause traveler's diarrhea, neutralizing toxins and maintaining healthy intestinal flora during the trip, without adverse effects. This combination of strains is a solution for typical traveler's symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, abdominal cramps, vomiting and bloating, with diarrhea being the most common, caused by contaminated food or water, caused by pathogenic bacterial strains of Escherichia coli , Salmonella and Shigella . People at high risk include young adults and the elderly, as well as people with compromised immune systems, irritable bowel syndrome or diabetes.

It provides ten billion live cells of Saccharomyces boulardii , whose main function is to block harmful bacteria that cause traveler's sickness and neutralize the effects of bacterial toxins that contribute to diarrhea symptoms. This creates favorable conditions for the eleven million colony-forming units of eleven scientifically proven probiotic strains to restore the balance of the intestinal flora, regaining healthy control to absorb vitamins, beneficial nutrients, electrolytes, and contributing to fluid retention.

It is used for both prevention and treatment of traveler's diarrhea, and even for antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD).

The enteric coating of the capsule protects the product from gastric juices and ensures its 100% potency.

SACCHAROMYCES BOULARDII: It is a non-pathogenic yeast, isolated from lychee in Indochina, which grows at a temperature of 37ºC and has beneficial effects on the human intestine. S. boulardii stimulates enzymatic activity, synthesizes a serine protease that degrades toxins and their respective receptors present in the colon mucosa and increases the immune response of the intestinal mucosa, protecting the body against diarrheal pathogens such as E. coli (by increasing the level of IgA). Other studies have confirmed its use for chronic treatments such as Crohn's disease, irritable bowel, HIV-related diarrhea and for the prevention of recurrent Clostridium difficile diseases.

In different studies it has been confirmed that this yeast has a marked effect in reducing diarrhea, even associated with ß-lactams, whether administered alone or with other antibiotics, preventing Antibiotic Associated Diarrhea (AAD) safely and effectively.

It is very helpful in preventing acute traveller's diarrhoea, especially when travelling to developing countries. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

LACTOBACILLUS: This is a type of bacteria used to treat and prevent diarrhea, including infectious types of diarrhea such as rotaviral diarrhea in children and traveler's diarrhea, and as an immune system booster. They also have the ability to adhere to the intestinal wall, thus preventing the establishment of harmful bacteria. It is also used to prevent and treat Antibiotic Associated Diarrhea (AAD). It is also effective in general digestive problems such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn's disease and colon inflammation.

LACTOBACILLUS RHAMNOSUS R1011 : has demonstrated the ability to survive and grow in high bile concentration as well as in the harsh conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. Several studies confirm the remarkable benefits of this strain in supporting intestinal health and immune response.

LACTOBACILLUS RHAMNOSUS R1039 : maintains the intestinal ecosystem and reduces the incidence of intestinal disorders such as AD.

LACTOBACILLUS ACIDOPHILUS R0418: helps improve digestive health by maintaining the intestinal barrier and restoring intestinal flora, improving digestion, strengthening the immune system and helping beneficial bacteria to proliferate in the colon. It is effective in preventing infections.

LACTOBACILLUS PLANTARUM R1012: can survive the digestive process, improves the condition of the liver, reduces inflammation of the intestinal mucosa, strengthens the immune system, prevents and treats diarrhea and avoids pathogenic invasions.

LACTOBACILLUS CASEI R0215: protects general health, keeping the immune system and microflora balanced and strong. It also prevents and cures diarrhea, improves the digestive process and strengthens the intestinal mucosa.

LACTOBACILLUS HELVETICUS R0052: found in dairy products, it ensures the absorption of nutrients. It protects the gastrointestinal tract, strengthens the intestinal mucosa, prevents and cures diarrhea and plays an important role in digestion. It also limits the proliferation of Candida albicans and reduces lactose intolerance . It controls unwanted intestinal microorganisms and bacteria.

LACTOBACILLUS DELBRUECKII SSP. BULGARICUS R9001: increases immunity and fights viruses, reduces diarrhea and nausea, improves digestion of dairy products and reduces inflammation.

BIFIDOBACTERIUM: used for many conditions affecting the intestines, to prevent diarrhea in babies and children and for traveler's diarrhea in adults, when used with other bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus . They are also used to restore the intestine and to treat diseases such as ulcerative colitis.

BIFIDOBACTERIUM INFANTISR0033 : survives in stomach and bile acids, and is generally able to adhere to intestinal tissues. It produces acetic acid and inhibits pathogenic bacteria.

BIFIDOBACTERIUM LONGUMR0175 has anti-inflammatory properties and is indicated for gastrointestinal discomfort, DDA, pathogen infections and seasonal allergies, among others ^{( 14,15 )} .

It helps in the formation of lactic acid along with small amounts of formic acid. These acids lower the pH level of the intestines, thereby making the region undesirable for harmful bacteria. It is also a major producer of B vitamins.

Very recently, a formulation containing Lactobacillus helveticus R0052 and Bifidobacterium longum R0175 in combination with Lactobacillus rhamnosus R0011 has been shown to reduce serum levels of proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1A, interleukin-6, interferon-Γ and tumor necrosis factor A after E. coli infection.

STREPTOCOCCUS SALIVARIUS SSP. THERMOPHILUSR0083 : Known to be sensitive to acidic gastric conditions and to survive the gastrointestinal tract and adhere to intestinal epithelial cells. It has been shown to have effects on diarrhea in children, enterocolitis in premature newborns, inflammatory bowel disease and acute rotavirus diarrhea. It improves lactose digestion in lactose intolerant people, produces antioxidants, stimulates the intestinal immune system and alleviates the risk of ulcers and inflammation.

Warnings

Consult your healthcare provider before using this product if you have fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, or severe abdominal pain. Stop use if symptoms of digestive upset (diarrhea) persist or worsen for more than 3 days. Consult your healthcare provider if you have a compromised immune system (such as lymphoma or AIDS).

Instructions for use

1-2 capsules per day. If you are taking antibiotics take this product at least 2-3 hours before or after. Start taking 5 days before and throughout the trip.
