It is a very interesting combination of 3 extracts of well-known and traditionally used plants.
Ginkgo Biloba: Due to its benefits, Ginkgo Biloba, sometimes simply called Ginkgo, is probably the most popular plant in the world, being used by millions of people in Europe and North America.
It is the oldest surviving tree species on earth (300 million years old). We use pharmaceutical grade ginkgo that conforms to the German Monograph (which has strict quality standards). We do this because we know that ginkgo may contain a naturally occurring, but undesirable, compound called ginkgolic acid, which can cause side effects in some people. And of course we choose high grade ginkgo that has strictly controlled safe levels of less than 5 ppm of this compound.
Cinnamon: There are two main types of cinnamon spice: Cassia cinnamon and Ceylon cinnamon. We use the correct species and the relevant part of the Cinnamomum cassia plant, as our extract is obtained from the bark of the tree (and not the oil) which is the essential part and responsible for the properties of cinnamon.
As regards volatile components, the chemical composition of cinnamon essential oils depends on the part of the plant from which they are extracted. In the essential oil of the bark, the most abundant component is cinnamaldehyde and this is why this part is used in LAMBERTS ® standardised cinnamon extracts.
Ginger: This versatile root has an incredible array of useful applications for humans. It is native to parts of India and China, as well as Jamaica and other tropical areas. From ancient India and China to Greece and Rome, ginger was revered as a culinary and medicinal spice.
Two capsules provide 6000 mg of ginkgo (as 120 mg of extract), the amount that studies have confirmed to be an effective dose.
VeinTain® uses plant extracts to ensure the presence of active ingredients. To better preserve the special volatile compounds present in ginger and cinnamon, we have chosen to produce VeinTain® in tablet form.
