WELEDA was created in Switzerland in 1921 by Dr. Ita Wegman and the philosopher and natural scientist Rudolf Steiner. The doctor bought a little house in Switzerland, which in 1921 became the world's first anthroposophical clinic, currently the Arlesheim clinic.
Weleda cosmetics started the industrial production of cosmetic skin care products in Germany in 1921. In 1922 they created the first medicinal plant garden, also in Germany. Today Weleda has eight gardens in which it grows biodynamic medicinal plants. Anthroposophy is the science that explores the connections between people and nature. Thanks to this, weleda has produced the best products. Weleda has several certificates, among them: NaTrue is the first certificate recognized worldwide, it is also the most demanding for natural and organic cosmetics. At Weleda, 100% of its cosmetic products are certified by NaTrue. Weleda is the first cosmetic brand in Europe and one of the few leading beauty brands in the world to obtain the UEBT "SOURCING WITH RESPECT" certification.
