Astaxanthin is a carotenoid, a natural wonder, and one of the most powerful antioxidants. This amazing carotenoid is closely related to other carotenoids.

Microalgae create astaxanthin to protect themselves from stressful environmental conditions. During the summer, when ponds begin to dry out, astaxanthin
allows microalgae to retain their DNA intact, ready to grow again when the next rain comes, even if that takes many years.
This remarkable ability demonstrates astaxanthin's function as an excellent antioxidant. In fact, studies have shown that natural astaxanthin derived from
Microalgae is 500 times stronger than vitamin E and much more potent than other carotenoids.
The algae we use are grown in a climate-controlled environment, in a closed system in the Arava Desert. The 3-month cultivation process mimics the accumulation of
astaxanthin in nature and produces an exceptionally pure and high-quality microalgae compared to astaxanthin grown in outdoor ponds.
The extraction process uses supercritical CO2 extraction technology which avoids excess heat and ensures a solvent-free product. It is more environmentally friendly to be
powered by solar panels and because they use their own water recycling plant.
Two capsules provide a full 8 mg of natural active astaxanthin, a level comparable with published studies. In addition, natural vitamin E, which contributes to the
protection of cells from oxidative stress.
We use a natural material derived from freshwater green algae, Haematococcus pluvialis, in the natural 3S ? 3'S form.
Synthetic astaxanthin is Rs-3S or RS-R'S and although it is cheaper, it is not known if it is active or safe.
Natural sources of astaxanthin, such as algae, predominantly contain the 3S, 3'S form (Lorenz and Cysewski, 2000).
Other organisms such as shrimp and krill contain a mixture of the different forms at different levels depending on the species and the food they ate to obtain the astaxanthin.
